Digital Equity & Inclusion

We are setting a goal to address the ever growing digital divide in Charlotte’s Historic West End. The digital divide is the chasm between those that are digital connected and have the skills to properly utilize our digital world and those that do not. According the latest data, the Beatties Ford Corridor is about 50% connected to the Internet. That means we are leaving behind half of our neighbors without the connections and skills to thrive in a our society.

Our approach to digital skills and equity begins with building partnerships with organizations and people doing great work in Charlotte. These partnerships help us connect you to existing programs to gain initial computer skills and devices. Once you have those skills we can build off of them and create a personalized plan to help you either gain job development skills or deepen your computer skills.

We deeply believe in a personalized approach to addressing the lack of access in the West End and helping our neighbors achieve the connections and skills needed to thrive.

“ Our focus is to connect West End residents to resources that provide careers that prevent displacement, increase homeownership and help all thrive in our neighborhoods. Together, we can Thrive and build a digitally inclusive future for the Historic West End.”
