Insurance may not be everyone's favorite thing to think about, but it is necessary. Rob Heath of State Farm Insurance thinks about it all the time so his clients don’t have to. Heath has been in insurance for 32 years and has no plans of getting out of the business anytime soon. “I started with State Farm as just a 25-year-old right out of college trying to figure out what I wanted to do. But, the company was so good to me that I just didn’t want to go anywhere else.”
Heath went from claims representative to manager, to agent throughout his time with State Farm Agency. During that time he gained an appreciation for providing full-service insurance to clients. “With us [Rob Heath State Farm], you are going to get full service. We can offer anything from auto insurance to supplemental health insurance to mutual funds, annuities, and life insurance. A lot of agencies are mono-lined. You can only get auto and homeowner’s insurance. We can take a look at your whole financial picture,” explained Heath.
Rob Heath State Farm not only looks at your whole financial picture, but they also look at you as a whole person. Heath wants his clients to leave his office informed and not solely obsessed with insurance prices. "Insurance price has pretty much commoditized the business in people’s minds. But, things happen every day. What our mission here is to help people recover from the unexpected and realize their dreams," said Heath.
Heath was helping people protect their dreams out on Brookshire Blvd. for 17 years. He relocated to the westside to get closer to Uptown Charlotte. Heath explained, "I knew this particular section [of the westside] was up and coming and was going to be a great opportunity in 10 to 15 years. So, when we found out this space was available we decided to make the move."
Upon moving to the westside the scenery changed. Heath explains, "It’s a whole different market than where I was before. We were out on the highway. A lot of cars going by." He continued, "It is really cool to see around here people jogging, walking babies, walking their dogs. But, business has been good."
To continue to keep good business, Heath has plans to host insurance seminars in and around the westside. "We are going to be doing Insurance 101 seminars where we are going to cover all topics from basic auto insurance, renters insurance, and life insurance." He continued," We are just here to help people understand the basics a little better so they can make informed decisions."
